"Atomic locomotive": There were, and are, some unrealistic ideas that people have thought up.

I won't say more about that, at least not now. This TV show, converted to video, is really fine! I haven't listened to any recordings of 3-cylinder steam in a long long time, if ever. Maybe someone else has audio of similar quality, of a 9000-class or some other large design, working hard. But this audio is REALLY great, say around 4:30 into the program.

The 2nd driver shown has something unusual -- looks like white paint with some kind of lettering. Look about 4:17 to 4:23 in the program. I wonder: When a bearing has recently been repaired, was it a way to convey info about the work done? That might be useful as the repair job is tested by actual operation.
