Mack Western assembly plant, Hayward, CA

I got to searching for info on the Mack truck plant in Hayward, CA that closed circa 1983 or so. Seems there is a community of truck fans that are fond of "Hayward Macks." Do you guys think truck parts came in by rail? WP? My searches all come up empty.
