Outstanding winter photo opportunities were in great abundance during the Heber Valley Railroad’s "Winter Steam Spectacular" February 11-13, 2008. On February 12th a "photo freight" consisting of eight vintage freight cars and a caboose, and powered by ex-Union Pacific 2-8-0 No.1068 was operated over their ex-Rio Grande branch. Numerous photo runbys were held for the group of intrepid photographers in two feet deep snow and sub-freezing temperatures. This is one of the runbys, held south of Heber City, Utah. The cold temperatures and clear skies combined to produce dramatic results.
