Avery Island in 1999

We were in New Iberia in 1999 to visit my wife's cousin. One day we went to Avery Island to visit the Tabasco plant, which involved paying a 10 cent toll at the bridge. The tracks were still there, with good-sized trees growing between the ties. Of course, by then SP was part of UP, the former-SP line to New Orleans had been sold to BNSF, and all the branches around there still in use were operated by a shortline called the Louisiana & Delta.
