I can remember sitting at the south end of MKT's Parsons Kansas Yard in 1980 one evening. I watched two yardmaster's specials leave town SB. Both trains took half an hour to pass at walking speed. It was still light when the first train started by, but it was almost dark by the time the second one cleared.
