Kinda like "kick the radio" to make it work in the old days.

I remember opening the electrical cabinet on our GP-7 and after fighting the spiders wiggling the plug on the front (old Motrac or Micor) usually did the trick. If that didn't qualify you as a "Radio Tech" a gentle tap with a brake shoe was sure to jar it back in contact.
