It's strange to me, that all at once, Virgil and Lavada Staff should come back into my memory at this point in my life. I am working graveyard shift with time on my hands, listening to Coast to Coast radio, and thought, "I know, I'll google his name and Berkeley and see what comes up." And to find out that he passed away just days ago blows me away. I was about to get back in touch with him. Long story there, but I met Virgil through a Physics professor at Michigan State University back in 1994 or so. He was studying some interesting things at that time, I don't know if it was a personal interest or work related. None-the-less, we spoke quite frequently over the phone for up to six months while I was experiencing these interesting events in my life. He was a calming breath of fresh air to me in a time of terror and great uncertainty. He encouraged me to write down my experiences and keep track of them to the tiniest detail that I could. I did this for some time and now, being 14 years or so later, all of that is lost. Events in my life led me to contact him again in 1998, at which time he sent me some books, at his own expense, to help me. I was going to contact him to ask him if I could get some sort of dictation of the recorded conversations that we had, so that I could remember all of the things that today I simply cannot remember. What a wonderful person he was, and I'm terribly sorry that circumstances in my life prevented me from ever meeting him and his wife in person. I'm sure Virgil Staff made a difference in many lives. I sure will never forget him.
