D&RGW #483 1967 and 1968

Rio Grande's K36 #483 was one of the last engines in service when the end came for the narrow gauge in 1968.

In August of 1968, putting the caboose on what would be the last revenue freight out of Chama.
Later, #483 would head West to Durango with the last inbound loads

After the creation of the Cumbres & Toltec, #483 would be the primary engine until it was set aside needing major repairs which, to date, have not been done. She now sits derelict in the Chama yard.
