Yes, it's unfortunate we can't have a discussion of issues without the use of the latest psycho-social babble.
Woke simply means that someone is aware of racism and other social injustice. Obviously, conservatives would prefer you stay asleep.
Virtue signaling is a bit trickier. Certainly people like Goldwater and Buckley were virtue signaling how patriotic they were in th 60s, so it's hardly just a thing liberals do.
I guess I became "woke" at about tbe age of 7 when we would drive into Washington D.C. and saw the appalling poverty of black people. Then watching police in Selma, Alabama on TV sic German Shepherds on civil rights demonstrators.
