Volunteers at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum install brackets for a new signal system from the roof-mounted platform of ex-PAT line car M210 on a cold December 21, 2008. The M210 was originally a Pittsburgh Railways Company passenger trolley which was converted for line car use, and was acquired by Port Authority of Allegheny County, PA (PAT) when Pittsburgh Railways Co. shut down in 1953. PAT used the M210 as a line car for many years, and donated it to the museum in 1995. The new signal system will allow up to four trolleys on the museum’s three mile line simultaneously. The PA Trolley Museum operates over a two mile segment of the Washington-Pittsburgh line of the Pittsburgh Railways Co. north of Washington , PA off I-79 at exit 40.
