Mr Excitement,

To climb on board, not long. However, if I remember correctly, GCOR requires that a full brake check be performed after so many miles. I'm sure there are those more sure one way or the other about this that could confirm or refute that. Id imagine that performing a full brake test on a train that long takes a good chunk of time. And that doesn't include whatever time the crew needs to sit waiting for clearance.
