U.S. Highway 97 is still the preferred route for truck traffic between California and Yakima, and Spokane too via Interstate 84 to Hermiston,OR., then U.S. 395 North to I-90 @ Ritzville. Lotsa 4 lane stretches nowadays in Central Oregon, and a bypass through Bend.
