...subjectively on the basis of their graphic impact. I was going to do all 20, but that would have been too tedious.

#1. Virginian - that black and yellow makes for a very striking appearance.

#2. Wabash - Sometimes older paint schemes just don't fit newer units, but this one does.

#3. Illinois Terminal - Just an insane shade of green. What else can I say.

#4. Interstate - Just the fact this small railroad with a few RS3s in this scheme makes it a winner.

#5. Nickel Plate- Again defying the odds that all those stripes would look good on a modern loco.

BTW, does anyone think that N&W unit way misses the mark on that shade of blue? Too dark.
