Good points. Thanks. Yes, a shortcut to Pasadena is hard to justify, really. Perhaps an extension of the BRT line? Or even a freeway express bus from the western part of the Valley to Pasadena?

My conspiracy theory for why the Red Line doesn't (and won't) go to BUR is not just cost, but also the fact that it would make BUR the only airport in the LA Basin with a direct (actually, TWO direct) rail line(s) to downtown LA. Which for doemstic travel might make it more desirable (for those "in the know" it already is) than LAX. And LA World Airports doesn't control BUR - Burbank collects whatever cash it throws off. So why make the competition easier to reach?
