CSX road slug No. 2206 leads a short consist of empty trash containers west bound on the former B&O Metropolitan Sub at Point of Rocks , MD on January 3, 2009. The 2206 was originally B&O GP35 No. 3540, one of 39 GP35s purchased by the B&O in 1964. Like most road slugs, the 2206 has had it prime mover and main generator removed, and receives electrical power for its traction motors from the diesel locomotive it is coupled to. CSX currently has over 150 road slugs on its roster. Coupled to the 2206 is CSX SD40-2 No. 6468, delivered in 1980 to the Louisville & Nashville Railroad as their No. 6606.
