Maybe it was The Family Truckster -- our 1966 Impala 9 - seat Wagon, in metallic blue ??? ( I was the kid in the rear - facing 3rd seat -- making faces at the drivers behind us. ) The only problem with it was the Powerglide behind the 327. Oh, and the drum brakes all around. Dad really wanted the Ford Custom Ranch Wagon -- the BEST wagon in the business. He could have had one with the 352 and a 3 - speed automatic. Mom said " NO ", as she was concerned the FoMoCo didn't have a power rear window shut off switch on the dashboard; the Chevy did.
As I pointed out to my dad recently: " What was the DOWNSIDE of one of us kids rolling the window up on our neck ??? One LESS mouth to feed ??? "
