4.5 is hardly major in California. Even low-mid 5's usually produce only minor damage near the epicenter. The Inland Empire area has low-mid 4's at least once a month on average.

Looking deeper at the USGS page, it was a typically deep CA quake (8 1/2 miles) so there's really no chance of much happening on the surface. Look at the "did you feel it" map and note that the worst intensity anybody reported was a low V - maybe a picture fell off a wall or a bottle off a shelf, that's it.
