1980 #56 line on Erie Ave. in Philadelphia Aug 1980

SEPTA Route #56 on Erie Ave. with the Market-Frankford Elevated structure in the background, August 1980. All-Electric PCC #2730 was delivered to PRT as part of a 75 car order in 1947 from St.Louis Car. It was later rebuilt into a PCC-II for the restored #15 Girard Ave. line and was renumbered to #2330 and is currently in service.

The #56 line was converted to "temporary" bus in 1992 but was never to operate again although as of 2006, much of the track was still in place.

Cigarette ads have also since disappeared.
