Long ago (pre scax) there was a way for the museum to get to get to the atsf depot.
The whole atsf line was banned for passenger trains by the fra.
No more hemet or march or depot exursions.
Times change.
In the scax era, rctc paid for a new temp switch so vc2 could join the opening of the perris line .
That rctc temp switch was removed.
As part of the new ward kimball transit center, the museum has a pocket track across from the scax main where the museums own track will connect with the pocket without touching the scax main...
EXCEPT
As the museum main track and the scax main track run side by side near 7th street-ish, there will be a new switch for the museum to get donations. This switch will be the museums, not scax.
Everything is ready at the pocket track and red board at 11th st for wire and track.
A new switch has been built and is on museum property.
That is all!
EXCEPT
1) The pocket track had way too much ballast dumped into it by a third party
2) A grade crossing was installed not to spec by a third party
3) Conversations between rail people and non-rail sensitive people of power about correcting issues 1 and in large part 2 led to temper flare that poisoned the well
...and here we wait for pigs to fly or term limits
