Sao Paulo line 17 monorail contract suspended

It appears the contract was stopped due to non-performance and/oir non-compliance and what's left is half of the proposed line operating.

Good aerial views of the viaduct and station partly completed. Pretty massive. I fail to see any advantage to monorail. Similar infrastructure to rail, more complicated switching, and way smaller installed base than electric rail.
