Read double tracking from Athol west.
I have a friend who is a design engineer for the idaho state hiway department and they are working to four lane I 95 from Coeur D' Alene through Sandpoint and working closely with BNSF, BN says with container traffic growing so fast they would like to tripple track from Chicago to Spokane.
The State of Idaho wants to tripple track BN across the prairie and have UP have trackage Rights on BN and remove their line in that part of the state.
Back in the 1940's my Dad operated the ventelation system at Stampede Tunnel until the Northern pacific automated it.
