In the late 1980s/early 1990s, there was a derailment on the SP in Texas or New Mexico (possibly Arizona) which was caused by a double stack tipping over. It turns out that a loaded container was placed on top of an empty, and not only that, the load was full of drums of copper Mexican coins destined for a scrapyard in the Chicago area (the container, listed as an empty, was about 50% overloaded). The "perps" were all caught because of an international prohibition on this type of sale and/or trading in specie.
