What kind of dash-8's? 4 axle or 6 axle? BN did run LMX units up the Kettle line, in fact, in spite of the fact they were the heaviest 4-axle units on BN, they went everywhere 4-axle units were permitted. The BNSF 500 series 4-axle dash-8's outweigh the LMX's and they too seem to be sent anywhere 4-axle power is permitted. The Great Northern ran SD-7's up the Kettle line before the merger. Last time they sent GP-60M's and Dash 8-40BW's they had issues with not being able to service the toilets in Spokane (they have a unique toilet system the Santa Fe wanted) and they got pretty ripe. Crews complained that the Dash 8-40BW's rode terrible and they joked about needing seat belts to stay in them.
