40 minutes? That's because he had to ride slow enough for the security detail to keep up in downtown DC traffic!

It would be even quicker to just hike over to Farragut Sq or McPherson stations, catch an Orange or Blue train to L'Enfant Plaza, then transfer to a Green to Navy Yard. The first 2 are about 2 blocks from the White House, and the last is across the street from DOT HQ. Should take 20-30 minutes during the day on weekdays. Been there (way before Covid), done it.
