When I rode the Pioneer/CZ and Empire Builder cross country in 1990/91, the non-caucasian staff were top notch, worked hard and brought a lot of smiles to people. Well next time I came to the dining car the entire staff knew who I was, and gave me a extra good treatment. I thought that was pretty remarkable.
