Re: You must be forced to post my crap or you're violating my First Amendment??? Yeah, right....
The text of the First Amendment:
Quote:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Emphasis added.
Lots of annotations here: [

THE CONGRESS shall make no law ... abridging the freedom of speech ...
I may be too simple, but that sounds like the social media people, being private organizations, are not prevented from shaping speech on their platforms. Congress passing a law forcing those platforms to carry speech they would prefer not to would, really, be abridging the freedom of speech ... of those platforms.
Just like here. Moderation here is extremely rare, but it has occasionally happened - is that CONGRESS abridging the freedom of speech? No. So the First Amendment doesn't apply. This is Altamont Press, not the federal government. You're on private property, and the owner has the right to control what goes on, as long as it doesn't violate laws that are based on other parts of the Constitution (the ADA may apply, for instance - when you post images, for instance, do the sources or you provide alternative text, as you're supposed to do?).
