Regarding the Gold Line test run in East L.A.:

TriMet ran a similar test run yesterday on its new downtown Portland trackage. A heavy-duty hi-rail truck (equipped with a Scharfenberg coupler for moving light rail cars) pulled a 200-series low-floor car along the Transit Mall ROW to test signals, clearances and catenary. Powered tests will follow later.

Full-scale testing on the Green Line to Clackamas Town Center is tentatively scheduled to begin in early May. TriMet plans to move its existing Yellow Line service to the new downtown trackage Aug. 30 and begin Green Line service about two weeks later.
