Many exceptions here. For instance in Seattle, Link from Everett to Seatac will have 0 transfers, Bellevue to Seatac will have a couple minute transfer, Tacoma to Seatac will have 0 transfers), Beaverton via Portland to PDX is 0 transfers, Boulder to DIA is one transfer in Denver, Phoenix DT and Mesa are 0 transfers (not considering the short Skytrain connecter ride).
One only requires a "kiss and go" before boarding in downtown stations.
