NWP's operations varied after the flood. The EUKA could make Willits in 12 hours with picking up industries starting in Arcata. I would say that the NWP had a low average track speed (15 MPH), but there were points before the canyon and in the canyon that 25MPH was possible. The issue was the location of the speeds would shift, depending on the movement of the canyon.
