Map is wrong. It would be best for you to read Thornton Waites book on the UP Montana Div. Currently out of stock and over priced on Amazon (like your map). But you can find it at various sources including Yellowstone gift shops. Narrow gauge was a desperate attempt to beat everybody to Montana, and Butte which was one of the most important cities in the west - at that time.
