The LA&SL detours are seat of the pants, if crew are available the Salt Lake is used, if not it's up and over Donner. The Brooklyn has shown up thru Tehachapi after being on the Salt Lake and it varies by the day, There are days when the 6 or 7 miles from Yermo to Barstow takes 2 hours due to BNSF congestion so that figures into it as well.
