Saw a lot of this on this on the WP back then. We didn't have a large number of special agents like the SP did (I think we had one for all of California). When you would pull into Oroville eastbound, they would be lined up past the yard office like it was a bus stop. Always wanted to know if the train was headed north or east. Other than that, they never bothered you.
