When tunnel six caught fire and had burned for at least a day help arrived. The property (ROW) is owned by the NCRA a failed state agency without the funds to keep the lights on in their office let alone manage a tunnel fire. John Williams the owner of the NWP sent Frank Lovio the longtime Roadmaster of the NWP on site to put out the tunnel fire.Williams hired a contractor and Lovio took charge. He had dirt trucked in and bulldozed from above the tunnel to build dirt barriers on both portals and smother the fire. The tunnel was badly damaged but it would have been a disaster without Mr. Williams money and effort and Lovio's expertise. Another example of the NWP funding NCRA's liabilities.
