The Oregon Transportation Commission has the Winchester Rail Yard project located just North of Roseburg, Oregon on its agenda for contract termination during its February 18th meeting in Salem.
The agenda was released to the public late Friday afternoon and has Douglas County and local officials in a tailspin.
At risk is $7.7 million dollar grant that was awarded by the ConnectOregon program to build a new rail yard just North of Winchester.
The Commission froze the funds after the Central Oregon & Pacific Railroad embargoed the Coos Bay Rail Line in 2007.
Roseburg City Manager Eric Swanson is leading the charge in gathering support from local officials to make an appearance in Salem during the hearing.
