Mt. Adams is in Washington, just north of Mt. Hood, and east of Mt. St. Helens. Having seen this perspective many times, you come to learn your mountains. If you must see for yourself, go to google earth, find Hito west switch just outside Aurora, zoom in to line up the tracks to your perspective at a 45 degree angle, then zoom out to see the mountains pop up.

PDXrailtransit has yet to admit that I'm right.
