In 1991 my dear wife got tickets to ride the inaugural run of newly restored AT&SF 3751, from Barstow over the Tehachapi Loop to Bakersfield, and return.

What more could a steam railfan ask for?

She actually got them in May, in anticipation of the 3751 running to Railfair 91. 3751 wasn't ready, but the tickets were honored in December, right after Christmas.
