The dome cars came from Holland America Westours and were put up for sale after the cruise line acquired its new Colorado Railcar domes.

The SL&GR's parent company purchased the domes and sent most of them to Colorado. One of the cars is now on the Mount Hood Railroad and operates on the road's excursion train out of Hood River, Ore.
