The major function of ALL levels of our government is to tax those who actually work/produce, and redistribute those revenues to the bribers, little will change. While Joe (fossil fuel investor) has been fighting actually useful domestic spending, the same Congress voted $35 billion MORE than DoD asked for. Tutor is merely a better known player in the CA pond--nothing compared to Lockheed, Raytheon et al.
Is CAHSR a bad idea? Maybe ifyou own airline stocks or trash food stops along I 5. When complete and functioning, it will cause major changes in much of ourstate. Yes,billionswill be squandered; look back at what theCP and UP did w/Fed money.

Breakfast on HSR , a pleasant day in LA and home again late in the evening. Decades ago at Candlestick, there was a group near us who had flown up to watch the Dodgers pummel the Giants. They left "in time to get some sleep" before opening their businesses the next morning.

And, because trains stop many places, that means one will be able to get more places more conveniently all up and down the route.
