I have been wondering the same thing, myself. No matter how much someone points out that the airlines are reducing service and canceling flights left and right, the same angry posters keep asking the same astonished questions.

The fact that people are calling out sick at an amazing rate just does not register. According to them, the temporary cuts are most surely due to either the board and CEO deliberately sabotaging the service and equipment shortages, not manpower.

And then “Englewood” today showed how removed from reality he is by wondering if conductors are still in charge of scanning tickets. But he is still the extreme expert on everything.

If you ever browse the Amtrak Unlimited forum, it is amazing how well informed and reasonable the posters there are compared to Trainorders.
