If the HSR engineers are convinced the only way they can keep people off the track is to build massive BART style viaducts they had better just re-route to the East Bay, where nobody cares.

And it they want to budget more money for tunnels spend it on drilling thru the Grapevine and dump the Tehachapis detour. They are going to need the 10 minutes saved.
