The CP Kettle Valley Railway that connected to the mainline at Spences Bridge has been completely removed from there all the way east to a point just west of Castlegar. The 1983 trip was the only time it was run to Penticton and became the last public passenger run on that line. I believe the last freight run was in 1989.

Two or three years later a second Okanagan Express was run that went to Kelowna, utilizing CN and CP trackage now operated by The Kelowna Pacific Railway and Okanagan Valley Railway between Campbell Creek, Armstrong, Vernon and Kelowna.
