C&TSRR Funding

March 6th C&TSRR Commission meeting At Magnolia Hotel in Denver showed how bad the economy really is. The Commissioners--after being late so they could be introduced to the Colorado House and Senate, basically got zero funding from Colorado. (About $275,000 for several pre-approved projects). And even New Mexico only ponied up about $600,000.
At the moment, the railroad has only enough funds to go till May, the Commission hopes that funds from ridership will carry them thru the end of the season without major layoffs of personnel. They are going to try to divert funds from Colorado for upgrades to the Osier section house for the roof of the Chama depot.
Even the Commissioners admit that next year will be even worse.
