SP 2479, from San Jose to Niles

Been watching with interest the 2479 group on FB take apart this steam loco for the move to Niles.

Has Niles Canyon Railway expressed serious interest in restoring it to operation? Will they be the new owners? Doesn't Niles still own SP 2467 that's on loan and displayed indoors at Sacramento?
