Who was there FIRST ??? The homes & pedestrians ? Or ... The RAILROAD !!!
I still recall the $#!t - Show in Orange County when Back Bay Newport Beach was developed into HIGH - Dollar Homes - then the new residents ( mostly doctor, lawyers, and other " Professional " clean - fingernail crowd types ) bought in -- and were shocked - SHOCKED !!! to find airplanes flying overhead. Never mind that airplanes have been flying over Back Bay since 1940 ( at least ), when the Santa Ana Army Air Corps field opened. But - Money and MORE money won out over common sense. So every time I fly down to Orange County to visit family & friends, I have to endure noise ordinances and take - off & landing curfews.
