On Feb 21, 2001, Pacific Locomotive Association sponsored a trip from McCloud to Bartle and back using just restored #18 and #25, which was need of repair. The original destination had been Burney but a heavy snowfall the day before made that impracticle. The excursion did operate a short distance down the Burney line and part way up the Hambone line.
