Trains allowed to leave the terminals with bad equipment
Besides screwing two Amtrak's, how many UP crews will it take to clear up this mess?
And with crews in very short supply!
Back during the SP-stUPid meltdown as long as a train left the terminal it was considered on time and executives got their big fat bonuses! even though most trains only made it one block before they sat and eventually died on the hours, I knew many a crew who made 12 hours and only 1/2 a mile from the home terminal, many walked back due to van drivers being overwhelmed, (they got lots of exercise) and were home for dinner and ready to try again the next day.
Idiot VPs and Dick-head Davidson, train crews got rich, terminal managers, crew dispatchers and dispatchers ripped their hair out! How history repeats itself, Glad I retired!
