I'm suspecting FUD from Chevron anyway. They're closing and selling off the San Ramon operation, moving some of the people to Houston. They sold off the downtown SF building many years ago. "HQ" needs to be little more than a storefront and a PO box, and for as long as it fits their PR needs they'll keep that - maybe take over a dead 7-11 in Coalinga? (Did they say where in CA their HQ will be? Didn't see that.) The company will be a TX company, however, like nearly all the other US oil majors now.
All corporations are equal in TX, but oil companies are more equal.
