Unless Modac Northern has a hugh traffic base, it will be very hard to operate and maintain 150+ miles of railroad. I guess the only good thing is heavy rail. If you were to begin a tie replacement project, you would need to replace over 11,000 ties annually based on 450,000 ties and 40 year life. At $40 per tie, that's $440,000 a year for just ties.
