So, it's obviously an interesting perspective...

But, for those who like trains, and aren't already following Roaming Railfan on Youtube, or who know nothing about Brightline....

Brightline is a privately financed passenger rail company presently operating rail passenge services in Florida, and constructing an extension that will go from Miami, via the Florida Coast Railroad, to Cocoa, then on a newly constructed 125 mph. segment on a public freeway adjacent right of way to Orlando Airport, and they are in advanced planning for an extension to Tampa.

Brightline west is a privately funded project, with stage one from Victorville to Las Vegas, that has done analysis of the LA/Sou Cal travel market, and planned an intermediate speed HSR rail passenger line to be constructed.

At this point Brightline seems to have completed much of the pre construction "due diligence" tasks, sucb aspre approval environmental analysis, and permitting, design and engineering, and are now beginning pre construction property acquisitons.

Brighline is a private rail passenger firm that apparently feels that heir capital return and operating returns will be met by selling trips to Las Vegas and back to LA, so they have chosen to invest in these enterprises.
