Here's another episode where a woman rides a Santa Fe train from New York to Montreal . . . it goes downhill from there.
There is file footage shown of a Santa Fe passenger train operating at night that has been recycled across several different productions, and all of the other exterior scenes were shot at LAUPT. The station of "Clifton", shown at 31:05, where our two heroes board the train, is actually the carmen's shanty at LAUPT. Interior scenes were done on studio set mock ups.
Note the "high crime and misdemeanor" of when the upper half of a dutch door was opened. The radio-telephone communication between the baggage car and the diner is Hollywood "schlock".
